The Need for Sufra Enviro
About Domestic Water
India accounts for 2.45% of land area and 4% of water resources of the world but represents 16% of the world population. Due to increasing population and all round development in the country, the per capita average annual freshwater availability has been reducing since 1951 from 5177 m3 to 1400 m3 in 2020 and is expected to reduce to 1140 m3 in 2050.
Above this, as per UNICEF reports less than 50% of the population in India has access to safely managed drinking water. Chemical contamination of water, mainly through fluoride and arsenic, is present in 1.96 million dwellings Hence there is an urgent need for efficient water resource management through enhanced water use efficiency and waste water recycling.
About Sewage & Waste Water
Water, food and energy securities are emerging as increasingly important and vital issues for India and the world Wastewater/low quality water is emerging as potential source for demand management after essential treatment. An estimated 38354 million litres per day (MLD) sewage is generated in major cities of India, but the sewage treatment capacity is only of 11786 MLD. Similarly, only 60% of industrial waste water mostly large scale industries, is treated.
To cater all the above water issues, it is high time that we as a responsible living beings should act for the betterment of our surroundings and the future beings. There is an urgent need for efficient water resource management through enhanced water use efficiency and waste water recycling. SUFRA ENVIRO has pledged to contribute to this social cause by offering the engineering solutions for complete water, wastewater and solid waste management along with energy recovery.
